Largest Heat Treatment in Europe!
Xeric have successfully completed largest heat treatment contract Europe has ever seen…
Group company Xeric has completed the largest pest elimination contract using heat, ever undertaken in Europe. After several months of planning the contract in Ireland which involved 24 hour shift working and a factory shutdown of a large food processing plant was completed in 8 days.
Since a worldwide ban on the use of chemicals such a ‘methyl Bromide’ was introduced, companies have looked more and more in to heat treatments to kill off unwanted pests. Xeric Systems, working with the world’s largest pest elimination company ‘Ecolab’ has already proven itself in the area of bed bug elimination in hotel rooms and on similar smaller contracts but this success should propel it into another league.
On the project, Xeric Manager Dave Stainton comments “The scale of the project was huge, at times we had over 50 items of kit installed, we delivered over 6.5 Million BTU’s of heat in to the plant and we were all totally exhausted on completion but we exceeded everyone’s expectations and I have no doubt that the success of this project will lead to many more enquiries from similar operators”, adding “Over the past 18 months we have proved beyond all doubt that heat treatments work, they involve no chemicals, are environmentally friendly and with the right expertise and kit, can be used in pretty much any environment were pest such as insects, bed bugs and a like are causing a problem”
